Happy Earth Day
Pete Seeger celebrated Earth Day at the Rockin' Earth Day Fest at Columbia Teachers College on April 18, 2009. He was joined by Cy Adler, founder and president of Shorewalkers, for a rendition of The Shorewalkers' Saunter Song:
You don’t know, you don’t know this townYou can join Shorewalkers for their annual walk around Manhattan's rim on Saturday, May 2nd.
Till you join the Shorewalkers
and they get you walking around
It’ about thirty-two miles ’round Manhattan’s rim
You can join ’em for a few miles,
next year walk about again
You can take a yellow cab or a subway fast and deep
But you learn a lot more
walkin’ on your own two feet
